Rainbow Hotel Makes Overnighting in Caye Caulker, Belize Heaven

My first overnight trip to Caye Caulker could not have been a more pleasant one - taking in the “Go Slow” motto of the island’s village, strolling along the streets without worrying about traffic, sipping on lizard juice at the split and just enjoying the inescapable calm of the island. The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow was the sleeping accommodations at the Rainbow Hotel.

No Ordinary Village Life at Ramon's Village

Reading through the history of Ramon’s Village I got to know about how the resort (originally Ramon’s Reef Resort) was built in 1961, only to have been destroyed by Hurricane Hattie the night after its completion. It sat in ruin for 20 years after that, until a group of investors built 10 cabañas, dug the sand out of the pool, opened the restaurant and resumed business.
