Dealing With Your Anger
“Anger always comes from frustrated expectations” - Elliott Larson
Wanting What You Get?
“Success is getting what you want; happiness is wanting what you get” - Ingrid Bergman
Your Shadow
Thank your teachers! Any situation or person that causes you discomfort, pushes your buttons, or requires you to stretch, is a teacher, because it is showing you where spiritual work is needed. Take each opportunity to ask: who do I want to be in this situation? How can I respond from Love, Blessings, and Wholeness? This changes everything! - Petra Weldes
Have an Attitude of Gratitude
“Gratitude is the first step to true happiness; Your goodness increases when you spread goodness to others."
Being Authentic
“We create our world with the ingredients we put into it, so take care with your recipe. - Greg Phillips"
What is Common Sense?
“Knowledge & common sense brings wisdom; Knowledge without common sense is nonsense."
Just the other day on Front Street near the airstrip, I witnessed road rage in San Pedro. A driver in a Taxi had stopped in middle of traffic, blocking the way. The driver of a small truck behind was quite upset and started to beep his horn. The taxi driver stepped out of his van just as the small truck eased by on the side waving his fist and yelling insults at the taxi driver as he sped away.
Possessiveness
“Experience all things with the enthusiasm of a child, and like a child own nothing but the joy." - Zen
What or who are you possessing today? Is there an idea you are stuck on? Do you have certain expectations from someone or something? When they are not fulfilled, are you disturbed? Do you possess your spouse, your friends, your home, your way of thinking?
Flowers & Garbage
“Bless those who curse you.”
John is a good man. He works hard all day cleaning septic, and soak-aways not afraid of getting his hands dirty and smelling fecal waste. “It’s not an easy job,” he says. But it’s important for people. Many people don’t like to see the dirty parts of themselves: they don’t really love themselves wholly.
Internal View
“Only you are looking out from your eyes. Only what is inside, you recognize” - Emmanuel
I once worked at the beach and had a great view of the Caribbean Sea, but I moved my office to the street side and all I could see out my window was traffic and people walking by. At first I thought I would not be able to enjoy it but as time wore on I realized that my internal view of things are the most important aspect of my life. The exterior world is in constant flux but how we view it on the inside is what keeps our peace of mind. We are in motion even in stillness.
Finding Balance
“Life is like riding a bike, to keep balance you Must keep moving” -Albert Einstein
Years ago when my partner and I came to live in San Pedro, we were downsizing and getting away from excess along with the new worlds’ demands- seeking simplicity and solitude away from the wheel of technology. For many people we met on the Island back then it was the same. It wasn’t about money-living here was about dropping out, living a fantasy, communing with nature, fishing, swimming and laying out. These and simple balance was the claim.
Personal Contracts
“There is nothing more likely to start disagreement among people or countries than an agreement” -E.B. White
The Love We Leave Behind
“We go through life, touching everything and taking nothing.” - Mitch Albom
Everything returns to source. Material things become easier to let go especially when health is a concern. Letting go of loved ones is never simple when they die. Our family, friends and loved ones, are woven through us from birth to death. They educate us, showing us parts of ourselves. They leave behind human love, broken hearts, and unfinished forgiveness. Our mind’s eye keeps a picture, frozen in time. Where are they now?
Tsunami Dream Landing
“Other people and their opinions hold no power in defining our destiny.” - Oprah
Last Friday at the Sunbreeze Hotel, there was a great commotion around five pm. The manager of the hotel rushed passed me in the hall shouting. “He’s landing now!! Pushing the hotel door outward, I watched as she darted across coconut drive to the airstrip. A bewildered tourist standing by turned to me asking. “Is there a famous person landing in San Pedro? “Yes!” I replied, as I rushed out the lobby behind the manager to be one of the many greeters from the hotel.
For the Love of Fish!
Be the change you want to see in the world. - Mahatma Gandhi
I love fish!! I remember as a boy when my older brother took me fishing for the first time. A stick, fishing line, a hook made of bent wire - one end filed sharp to a point. A rock with groves to hold the line tied to it was the sinker. We would sit on the dock near the shore, chattering as we used bread, snails, crabs, whatever we thought the fish might eat as bait.
Radical Relationships
Why is it we lose our health to gain our wealth, then use our wealth in a effort to regain our health. -unknown
It is said that health is wealth and love is the most important aspect of life. Words are not the same as practice. Many people will say money will keep you healthy, still others say health, love and money is in a close race. Yet all the money in the world can’t stop you from death. Being physically healthy does not always make you feel love. Life is a passage to another place.

Health:
Real Unconditional Love
Love isn’t something that happens to you; it’s something that you choose
There is a pure love
That renders one speechless
When you come upon it
It asks nothing; it takes nothing
It is the stillness of an orchestra
Before the first note
A flower about to burst into petals
An endless silence that
Can only be the unknown
Mystery called God
-Emmanuel
Facing the Passage
Face which stands before me
With glowing praise adore thee
Tormented cheeks with shriveled smile
Speak of distant traveled mile
A soul whose body consent to rent
Now bent, broken life spent
So as thy journey comes to end
Remember angels God did send
In you the light of life still shines
And in our art all ties still bind
To lead you on to greater place
Of rest & peace with silent grace
Emmanuel
Wisdom of the Third Eye
That soothes your soul It’s the sounds of waves gently rocking Sparks of lights on morning wakes Dancing masts to mark the skies Timeless distant sunny haze Liquid life that flows before me by Emmanuel
Time and time I am told
Wind through trees talking
Shifting sand marks where walking
Sailboats rocks at mooring gates
Clouds like snow drifting by
Clears the mind on cloudy days
Nature nurture touch of glory
Keep Peace Daily
“Be in the world, but not of the world.”
The other day I put my t-shirt on inside out. I never noticed what I did until much later. I stepped out my door, and wandered down the beach to the coffee shop. Passing locals on the way I exchanged good morning nods. Some smiled and others responded with good morning back to me. Leaving Ruby's after buying my orange juice when someone joked about my shirt, was when I actually became aware that, indeed, I had put my shirt on inside out.
Never, Never, Give Up!
“Persistent people begin their success where others end in failure. By Edward Eggleston”
Once on a boat trip to Xitapa, Mexico we came upon a flock of pelicans flying in unison as these big birds do. The flock formed a perfect “V” alongside our boat. At the apex of the V the first bird flapped its wings, then the second two behind him and so on down the line of the ten or so birds. The ebb and flow of their wings reminded me of how our economy does the same cycle.
2012 is it The End?
“Choose thoughts and beliefs that support a positive outcome.”
Your Authentic You
“May you always swim in the ocean of abundance while manifesting your own divine destiny. Listen to your friend”
Fish swim alone. They might be in a school or in a twosome, but they always swim alone. Many of us are susceptible to change. We do not handle it easily, we go kicking and screaming, fighting against what is always best for us. Our fear of the unknown disrupts into anxiety as we try and know the outcome. We struggle to control that which we cannot-change is inevitable.
