by Gerry Badillo - On May 9, 2013, I was cordially invited by the junior students at San Pedro High School to witness two wedding ceremonies. Trust me, when I was asked to attend the weddings, I was as confused as when you read the headline to my blog post. Don’t worry, the weddings were only a reenactment as part of a project of their Christian Life Choices class.
On Friday, April 26, 2013, students of the San Pedro High School worked so hard to come up with the best experiments and projects to showcase at the schools annual Science Fair.
The message might be that of Peace, Love or Happiness, but the images of flowers that have been plastered around the island by an unknown graffiti artist surely bring a smile to your face when you see it.
I have always wanted to go to Disney World, but my wish came true much faster than anticipated. Therefore, my blog is dedicated to San Pedro's very own Epic Mickey and his surprising travels, appearances and memorable facebook pictures that surfaced on the web this past weekend.

On Friday, July 27, 2012, the Hol Chan Marine Reserve invited me to experience their annual turtle nest scouting at the Bacalar Chico Marine Reserve and National Park. Marine Biologist, Kirah Forman and her team guided me to every nesting ground which they had tagged for inspection.
Monday, June 30, 2012, Captain Morgan’s Retreat & Casino was the place to be for the Saga Humane Society annual fundraiser inside the Captain’s Casino. The lovely Costa Maya delegates helped raise funds by posing for some memorable pictures with the attendees.
In San Pedro there are many different people from all walks of life, but some of them stand out more than others. We have our own unique characters on the island such as Paisano (deceased), Coconut Leo and now The Island Cowboy.

On Sunday, May 20, 2012, six San Pedro High School students took it upon themselves to organize a swim challenge that would not only demand much of their physical abilities, but would also demand much attention to the state of our coral reef and the personal health of everybody.
The Belize Tourism Expo “BETEX” kicked off and I was there to witness and socialize with many Belizean and International businesses. The excitement was in the air at the Princess Hotel as many businesses were getting their finishing touches on their booths and ready to show off their best presentation skills.
Belize is beautiful above and below, day and night. We are all gifted for having the second largest barrier reef in the world. We are indeed nature's best kept secret. People from all walks of life come down to our marvelous country to find adventure, luxury, comfort and more; trust me they find it.
Hey Followers! The buzz around town has been all about what is happening for Easter weekend. Many who have visited the island and live here know the rundown, but for those who don’t you are in for well deserved treat.
Many people who have visited San Pedro, Belize can tell you that they never went around on an empty stomach, simply because of all the great choices of eateries on the island. If you hear someone saying that they haven’t eaten and are dying of hunger on the island, then let’s just say that they are dying because they want too or are just plain picky. Just ask the staff at Elvi’s Kitchen!
On a unexpected trip to Belize City, I found myself walking through the busiest street in the city, “Albert Street” and came across that it was closed, but yet very full of life. Tents were all erected and people were decorating and setting up their booths for the Second Annual Street Art Festival, that was taking place on Saturday, February 25, 2012.
There are many amazing events that are celebrated on the island, but the one that I definitely look forward to is Carnaval. This three day celebration is unique and I love it, simply for all the impressive colors of costumes during all the comparsas and all the beautiful people walking around town like Picasso paintings.
I am proud to let all of you know that today marks my one year anniversary of my video blog “What’s Up Today Gerry? “ on Ambergris Today Online Newspaper. It has been a huge fun experience; guess what? I am going to be making some more!!! The journey is only beginning and with all the support of my Sanpedranos and viewers together we can get San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize noticed.
