Ambergris Caye Directory
Belize is an outstanding jewel and is known for many of its beautiful tourist attractions like the Maya ruins, the second largest Barrier Reef in the world and much, much, more. When problems arise that affect our treasured country we all unite and stand up for our rights and voice our opinions.
Many of us are born with a BURST of energy and use that energy in sports, dancing, singing etc. But sometimes that energy runs out as we get older. Don’t fret! Bowen and Bowen Company has come up with an awesome new product called Full Throttle Blue Fury Energy Drink.
Have you ever had that moment in your life where you just want to escape; I have. On a lovely Sunday on la Isla Bonita I was out walking the beach with some friends and observed this amazing and unique man-made boat sailing the beautiful blue waters of San Pedro.
The San Pedro Lions Club is known for helping out the community and every December they spread the holiday joy around different communities on the island. On Thursday, December 22, 2011, they set out to the D.F.C. Area with the company of many Sanpedranos and the brand new addition to the Lions Club “The Leo’s” (teens helping out, woo hoo!).
I believe that the world is rich in candy; more than money (at least we all are rich in something).
Many interesting people from all walks of life get the chance to visit San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize. Glenn Schwendinger, the owner of Rendezvous Restaurant and Winery, gave his great friend a trip of a lifetime by inviting him to visit La Isla Bonita for the first time. This lucky friend is Bill Yim “The Party Caricaturist” from Hong Kong, China. Mr.
November is a very important month for a very colorful and cultural ethnic group in Belize called the Garifuna. In San Pedro, the Garifuna Council has a three-day celebration for everybody to enjoy and learn about their rich culture. I marked the dates on my calendar and made sure I was part of the celebration.
On Saturday, November 12, 2011, The San Pedro Holiday Hotel hosted the launch of the 2012 Calendar of the Marco Gonzalez Archaeological Reserve. It was indeed a special night as many purchased and help support this amazing reserve. Congratulations to Mrs. Jan Brown in accomplishing such a successful project to help our children to get educated about the wonderful world of the Mayas.
Green indeed is one of my favorite colors. And I am happy that green is in because everybody is thinking about the environment these days. “Going green is the way to go” is a sign I saw in many places in the wonderful town of San Ignacio, Cayo, Belize. It was an honor to be invited by the Nviro Club to witness and feature their Eco Heart Fashion Show at the beautiful Midas Resort.
When I was young, music had always been a way of escaping and expressing myself. And when I was in high school I made a mental to-do-list which I can say that I have almost completed it all and got more than I bargained for (I’m not complaining, but I’m thankful). You don’t need to be perfect at everything; I wasn’t and I’m still not.
A lot of people enjoyed their taste of lobster in June here on La Isla Bonita. Now October is here and San Pedro is ready for Conch Season. Many Sanpedranos headed to sea early in the morning to catch this delicious animal. But before I state more on Conch Season, I have researched brief information on the beautiful Queen Conch Shell.
San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize has definitely been the hot spot for many visitors from all walks of life throughout the years. Visitors come to the island because of the friendly people, delicious food, bars and entertainment and amazing hotels, but definitely we can’t forget the outstanding snorkeling and diving at the second largest Barrier Reef in the world.
If you are feeling lucky or just want to have a great time on a Thursday night, Wahoo’s Lounge is the place to be. This place use to be formerly known as the Pier Lounge, but now under the wing of an amazing new management this chilling hot spot has gotten an attractive new look, but kept the popular World Famous Chicken Drop.
On my daily travels around San Pedro Town, I noticed these two tourists taking pictures, not of themselves; but of an adorable brown bear. I had to go and ask them what they were doing because it looked cool.
Everybody has been buzzing around town about the new delegates bidding for the crown for Miss San Pedro 2011. The Miss San Pedro Pageant is always a great entertainment on the island for locals and tourists. The San Pedro Town Council organizers start preparing themselves as soon as possible; starting with the theme to the amazing cultural costumes.
Ever since the lovely delegates from the Reina de La Costa Maya 2011 arrived, the island has been buzzing about them. I had the privilege in meeting them on their arrival at both Maya Island Air and Tropic Air. I have to be honest I was very excited to meet these girls (Yea! New Friends) and join them on their day by day adventure until the day of the pageant.
I was honored to be invited to go and spend a spectacular day at the San Pedro Public Library. If you are thinking that reading is all I did, you are so wrong. The Library is hosting many children from different schools on the island in their Summer Program 2011.
I have lived on this beautiful paradise all my life and I treasure every moment. San Pedro is very amazing for its tourist attractions like fishing, snorkeling and diving, just to name a few. Also, I cannot forget to mention the caring and hard working Sanpedranos.
Wednesday June 15, 2011, the opening of Lobster Season; this is the date that many fishermen in San Pedro wake up early to and dedicate their day and time in checking their shades/trampas.
The Belize Tourism Awards 2011 took place on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in Belize City and Ambergris Today was invited to experience the spectacular event once again. Myself and Delsie got the opportunity to wine and dine with the Belizean celebrities at the amazing Old Belize. The awards started off with a welcome speech by the director of tourism; Ms.
Last week I had been battling a massive headache and nausea and when I decided to go to the Poly Clinic; shockingly I was diagnosed with high blood pressure (I felt the wind was punched out of me).
I was present to capture all the nervousness and excitement at San Pedro High School as the seniors received great news that they have successfully completed their senior year of high school and were up for graduation. It was definitely a déjà vu moment seeing all the seniors happy and signing each other’s uniforms.
On Saturday, May 7, 2011, San Pedro High School held its Business Fair to show off the marketing skills of its students. Together the seniors and juniors came up with their best products to catch the judge’s eyes in order to win first place.
