Discover the Richness in Food at Lily's Treasure Chest

Broiled Lobster Tails at Lily's Restaurant

The staff of Ambergris Today was once again invited to savor great food at one of San Pedro’s oldest and well renowned restaurants – Lily’s Treasure Chest. Located on the beach directly at the foot of Amigos del Mar dive center, you can enjoy great drinks and well prepared meals while enjoying a great view of the Caribbean Sea.

We were greeted by the staff of Lily’s with four great drinks; Blue Hole, Wine Cooler, Mint Mojito and Coconut Mojito; they were all great to cool down on a hot summer day.  Lily’s offers a wide array of starters (appetizers) and like many restaurants ceviche is always on the menu, but to our surprise we were treated to an aphrodisiac ceviche. Fresh shrimp marinated in lime juice, onions, tomatoes, cilantro and drizzled with lemon rum served with fresh tortilla chips!! Boy was is great, ceviche with a kick of lemon rum! A must have while at Lily’s!

We also had seafood sampler plate which included fish, shrimp and lobster battered in a secret recipe and served with a delicious sauce. Our staff was already licking their fingers and these were just appetizers!

Lunch was ready and we were treated to five finger-licking meals:

Broiled Lobster Tail: Two succulent lobster tails cooked to perfection and served with melted butter and a large baked potato.

Broil in Foil Snapper: One of Lily’s Special includes Snapper broiled in foil in a special mushroom sauce served with delicious rice and beans.

BBQ Shrimp Kebabs: Shrimp marinated in a tangy barbecue sauce with vegetables in a skewer and grilled to perfection served with colorful curry rice.

Fish-Shrimp Casserole: Another of Lily’s Special dishes, the fish and shrimp are seasoned with Cajun and mustard spices and drizzled with creamy sauces and served with coconut rice.

Stuffed Chicken: Tender chicken breast stuffed with melted cheese, onions and mushrooms accompanied with fluffy mashed potatoes.

All meals were excellent and each of us had our favorite dish, but you have to go to Lily’s to try them yourself and be the judge of the best dishes. Trust us; you’ll have a difficult time determining which is best. They are all “Out of the World”.

The items we had for lunch can be served for both lunch and dinner. Other items include lemon Fish, Broiled Tequila Snapper, Conch Scampi, Shrimp Creole and Pepper Steak to name a few.

And let us not forget the most important meal of the day, breakfast - Lily’s breakfast menu has garnered such good reputation and two items that are on the top favorites are the Huevos Rancheros and Breakfast Burritos. But you can also choose from omelets, fruit plates, pancakes, French toast and cinnamon rolls.

Lily’s Restaurant has been serving up local dishes since 1971 when Mr. Felipe Paz Sr. (better known as Tio Pil) established Lily’s Hotel. From humble beginnings and a small kitchen, Lily’s has grown to become a local favorite for traditional home-made dishes.

So if you are looking for a great place to eat with fine food and a great view of the Caribbean Sea, Lily’s Treasure Chest is the place to eat. Lily’s Treasure Chest is open every day from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. For extra special service be sure to tell them that Ambergris Today sent you.
