Wet Willy’s is Back with Something Good!
Have you been to Wet Willy’s lately? It’s not the same place that you remember as the new owners are making the fun at the end of the famous dock more family oriented by day and with plenty of fun and entertainment at night.
One piece of kitchen equipment that is making a world of difference at Wet Willy’s is a smoker which chef Stephen Kilshenstein is a pro at using to slowly cook meats and creating some delicious food that sets the establishment apart.
With a brand new kitchen and a chef who likes to smoke 'all things meat', the new food menu at Wet Willy’s will have you licking your fingers and coming back for more. Ambergris Today will surely be a repeat customer from now on.
Take a bite out of the delicious Pulled Pork Sliders and you’re hooked. These miniature soft buns are packed with pork and homemade coleslaw. The pork is slow cooked in the smoker for 12 hours and just tastes amazing. These pork sliders are even more delicious if you smother them with any of the home-made sauces which include a spicy mustard sauce, sweet rum sauce or Carolina mustard sauce (all of which are prepared by Chef Stephen and Bruce).
We are hoping that Chef Stephen starts bottling and selling those delicious sauces because it would be great to take some home; but in the meantime we will keep going back to have them at Wet Willy’s. Muy Bueno!
How do you like your ribs? Soft, tender and packed with flavor! The slow cooked ribs are cooked (smoked) to perfection and the meat just slides off the bone! You will definitely want to “dig in” immediately! There is not too much seasoning that goes into making these ribs delicious. The smoking process seals in the flavors of the ribs and you can add your personal favorite sauce and make it even yummier! This delicacy is served with a one-of-a-kind potato salad, coleslaw and salted, hand-cut French fries!
And the one dish that took the trophy for best in house was the Pan Roasted Pork Chops; they are to die for! This has got to be the best Pork Chops we have ever tasted anywhere on the island. Chef Stephen was very confident when he told us it was the best pork chop on the island. He was not lying! He cuts the one inch thick prime cut pork chops himself; making sure each cut is thick enough to satisfy the hungriest of man. The chops are served with bacon jalapeño macaroni and cheese casserole (enough said with that!) and coleslaw.

Great food accompanied by great cocktails, at a great place, with a fantastic view of the Caribbean Seas –Wet Willy’s is definitely the place to be. The dock is open to the public and has a great area for swimming and hanging out with friends and family while you enjoy some good food and drinks. We were lucky to be served by bartender extraordinaire Ruben Delgado, who whipped ups some tasty mojitos, mai tai’s and margaritas!
A full menu at Wet Willy’s is still in the works but what they have right now is super delicious and we cannot wait to taste what’s to come. Here are other options that you can enjoy at the moment:
Chicken Wings, Smoked or Fried
Macaroni and Cheese Casserole with Bacon and Jalapeno
Quesedillas
Smoked Chicken
Roast Pork or Chicken Panini
Chicken Breast Sandwich
* Check out $1 Taco Tuesdays and $1 Wednesday Wings which are promotions currently running for the summer.
The new owners of Wet Willy’s have cleaned up the place and are revamping the image of the establishment that managed to get a little bad reputation. It’s a new environment with new food, new look and new atmosphere for enjoyment. Wet Willy’s surely is looking like a great spot to hang out and enjoy a bit of island life that makes San Pedro such a great place for dining, entertaining and just plain relaxing and enjoying La Isla Bonita.
