We retreated from the fast-paced living in downtown San Pedro for an entire weekend and pampered ourselves with the tranquility and comforts that Captain Morgan’s Retreat has to offer. All you have to do is look out the window from one of their condos to absorb Ambergris Caye’s tropical and Caribbean atmosphere at its best! Picturesque white sandy beach (1,100-feet of it), palm trees swaying, cool hammocks, private individual outdoor beds under shady palapas, endless sun and cool tropical breezes.

It's very quiet...peaceful. Sunrise brought us an early morning shower that seemed to revive the earth and brought out the scent of fresh flowers in the air. It also called out the seagulls, pelicans and local fishermen who cast their seine nets into the shallow waters to catch sardines for their day’s trip! All of this you can see from the comfort of your verandah as you sip your coffee and enjoy the sea breeze.

Staying in one of their three-bedroom luxury condos, you immerse in the pleasures of luxury living with modern decor and living amenities such as a generous living room and large outdoor terrace with sunken hot tub, fully equipped kitchens, dining area, large master bedroom and comfortable second and third bedrooms, two marble bathrooms, storage space and laundry room. Captain Morgan’s Luxury Condominiums provide approximately 1,900 sq. ft. of luxurious living space. Each condominium vacation rental has a rich natural wood, stone, and locally inspired designs which create a living environment that celebrates Belizean character.

If you are looking for a more casual setting and not in the need of high-end luxury, accommodations at Captain Morgan’s Retreat also include beachfront cabañas, one or two bedroom villas which are a bit more rustic “island style” but still very comfortable and all the amenities for a comfortable stay.

Stepping out the door there is another form of luxury living - island style. Captain Morgan's retreat has very ample surroundings with pearly white sandy beaches and lush coconut palms creating the perfect shady areas in which to relax. We totally enjoyed doing pretty much nothing but soaking up the natural surroundings, lounging beachside, taking a dip in the large pool, cocktails at the bar and enjoying great food from the restaurant.

Located just a short boat ride north of San Pedro Town, guests of Captain Morgan’s enjoy a variety of activities, tours, and excursions to any of Belize’s spectacular dive sites or exotic inland destinations; arrangements can be made right at their tour desk. Amenities include a Gift Shop/Grocery Store, Cabana Coffee Shop, Sundari Spa, Three Freshwater Pools (Captain Morgan’s Retreat features 3 full-sized, freshwater pools, close to every room on the resort).

One attraction that Captain Morgan’s Retreat has that no other resort on the island has is their Vegas-style Captain’s Casino. It’s the only full casino on Ambergris Caye with table games, over 40 slot machines, and full bar. Food service is available throughout the casino which also serves complimentary drinks while you play.

It’s a high energy environment, especially when the casino hosts special events which include community fundraisers. It has access to international sports games and caters to special events. You can also enjoy high definition flat screen TVs while you gamble right at the bar; electronic poker machines are installed into the bar counter!
