Maestro Reyes School of Knowledge Bids Farewell
“Pomp and Circumstances” filled the San Pedro Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, June 23, 2012, as nine proud students of Maestro Reyes School (MRSK) triumphantly marched up the aisle to receive certificates in elementary education. The church was filled with parents, relatives and invited guests, including the Mayor of San Pedro, His Lordship Mr. Daniel Guerrero and Minister of Tourism Hon. Manuel Heredia Jr. to witness a very solemn ceremony and mass.
The proud graduates are Ezra Jacobs, Gillian Paz, Kasia Reyes, Kayleen Gonzalez, Aurelio Batun, Kieran Nuñez, Naigel Cob, Robert Halliday and Samir Mejia. From these intellectuals, the three top scorers at the P.S.E. test this year were Kieran Nunez, Kayleen Gonzalez and Kaisa Reyes. Also graduating with honors were Gillian Paz and Robert Halliday.
This year’s graduation was extra special as it was the very last graduation for Maestro Reyes’ School of Knowledge. Kieran Nuñez gave the valedictory address which was followed by a very emotional principal’s address by Mr. Leonel Reyes. In his speech Mr. Reyes expressed his gratitude to all the community for its unending support throughout his teaching careers (24 years as teacher/principal at San Pedro RC School and 21 years as teacher/principal at MRSK).

Kasia Reyes delivered the Vote of Thanks address and also presented Mr. Reyes with a special token of appreciation. Father Arturo Añonuevo celebrated the Holy Mass of Thanksgiving and also handed the diplomas to the proud graduates.
Maestro Reyes has taught two generations here on the island and has left a special mark in all his students. He has been a very dedicated teacher and principal always doing his best to instill great values and morals to his students. Following the school’s motto “Persistence is the Key to Success” many past students have become successful businessmen and women in this community.
Congratulations to the proud graduates and to Maestro Reyes! We all wish Maestro Reyes all the best in his future endeavors.
