SAGA Humane Society would like to extend their thanks to Bruce & Diane Badolato and Steve Kilchenstein the owners of Wet Willy’s for hosting our monthly Cook-off Fundraiser for the second time this year!  It was held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012.  Bruce, Diane & Steve and their staff were once again gracious hosts.

On the 24th of May 2012, Minister of Culture & Tourism, Hon. Manuel Heredia, presented prizes to three children, who had won awards for kindness in San Pedro. The Grand Prize winner was Mariano Calderon (The Island Academy), Faith Azueta (R.C. School) was the 1st Runner up and Naomi King (The Island Academy) won the Be Kind Belize Choice Award.

I’d like to take this opportunity to announce my “Endorsement” of Manuel Heredia Jr for Area Representative for our Belize Rural South. I have no reservations in endorsing Mr. Heredia. I’ve known him personally for 16 plus years.

On Monday, February 6, 2012, and about 12:30 pm I just returned from town and heard our neighbor known only to me as Carl yelling profanities and and as soon as he caught my eye he proceeded to climb over the two fences separating our yards. My husband told me to get into the house, and we locked the doors and closed the windows.

Dear Editor,I am a tourist who was driving a rented golf cart and was stopped at the street check point. I was given a ticket due to my golf cart only having one license plate. I told the officer that it must have fallen off in the very bad roads in the DFC area. He gave me a $25 ticket and told me “Welcome to Belize” and all the officers laughed
