The Ambergris Caye Masonic Lodge celebrated its second anniversary on Saturday, April 29, 2017, with a social gathering held at The Great House, Mahogany Bay Village. The Ambergris Caye Masonic Lodge was founded on May 6, 2015.
Members and invited guests enjoyed a fantastic evening of dining and dancing. Lucy Munoz was the lucky winner of the raffle.
Due to many rumors that are shared through out the community about what the really is, Mason encourage the community to read and educate themselves about what the lodge truly is.
The Masonic lodge is a fraternal organization that teaches morality; they are known to be a secret society to the community but rather claim to be a society with a secret. Mason claim that this lodge is not a religion, it respects and accepts all religions. In fact in order to become a member one must believe that there is a God, they do not recruit members but those interested need to ask to become a member. Their goal is to become better men as the organization is open only for males.
Meetings are held every third Wednesday of the month and every year a new master takes lead of the group. There are a total of 16 active members in the Ambergris Caye Masonic Lodge.
