Dear San Pedro, or Isla Bonita, as Robert (Dr. Bob) Morris would call it,
It’s with sadness I’m writing to tell you of Robert Chandler Morris passing. Bob lived a great 89 years before he passed away peacefully on June 23rd, 2021. He was in his hometown of Chrisman, Illinois, along side his wife Sara (Ms Sarita) of 66 years.
The Morris Family traveled to Belize for the first time more than 47 years ago. On that first visit they stayed at The Paradise Hotel (now the Phoenix). After a few visits to San Pedro it was clear Bob, Sara and their son’s Bobby, Rich and Tim were hooked. So they decided to purchase a salty piece of paradise to call their own. A little palmetto stick built home on the beach near Corona Del Mar they called it “their heart and home away from the USA.”
Bob loved walking the beach to and from town often. He and Sara hand in hand headed south towards their San Pedro Home often. Stopping at BC’s Bar for a cocktail and of course visiting local and tourist friends. A little further past Crazy Canuks Beach Bar they reached “Casita Las Morris” . It was carved on the lil’ handmade sign for anyone to see as they walked the beaches of La Isla Bonita.
Dr. Bob was a great helping with Animals, Sara with the Humanity. Dr. Bob assisted SAGA Society as a part of the Safety Animal Control Committee.
