Clear Skies and Crystalline Waters in Belize

I am not one to make resolutions as the New Year approaches; never been into them as I believe that we do not need the New Year as an incentive to do something positive for ourselves. But I applaud those who stick to the resolutions they set for themselves; a change for the positive is always good.

But there is one thing that I think I will work on for 2012, a New Year resolution of sorts. And that is to get to know my country a lot more. I have been privileged to have visited many great sites around the country through Ambergris Today, but there is still a lot more that I can discover.

Promote my country even more; that is my goal. I see the Belize/UMatador Road Warriors traveling all over Belize and I tell myself, heck I can do that too and I have the perfect medium to spread the great news on Belize. Ambergris Today Online is doing a fantastic job both locally and internationally in keeping people informed on a daily basis. Our following is steadily increasing and we expect great things for the New Year.

Case in point, here are recent pictures from high above the Caribbean Sea as I traveled back home to Ambergris Caye from Belize City. Pilot Gerald Leslie of Tropic Air gave his passengers a treat by taking the scenic route to the island. He flew above the islands that skim the Great Barrier Reef of Belize giving us spectacular bird’s eye views of our magnificent Belize.

There is nothing more spectacular than admiring the deep blue Caribbean Sea on one side and the clear turquoise waters on the other side of the foamy coral reef. Up high, you get to see the small mangrove islands that dot the coastline of Belize. The sea if full of activity with sailboat gently swaying in the breeze, divers taking the plunge in our marine reserves and the great aerial views of the larger populated island of St. George’s Caye, Caye Chapel and Caye Caulker are like no other. This is my home; this is My Belize. Enjoy it!
