Back in the day, the streets were sand,
barefoot paths across this land.
Back in the day, no rush, no race,
just sea breeze whispers and a slower pace.
Back in the day, the sky felt wide,
no towers stretching side to side.
Back in the day, the island slept,
and peace was something everyone kept.
Now streets are paved, the skyline grows,
and traffic hums where calm wind blows.
But even as the times have changed,
the island’s heart remains unchanged.
For life is still so sweet, so free,
here on our Ambergris Caye. 🌴
