Track and Field athletes Katy Sealy and Brandon Jones will represent Belize at the Olympics 2016 in Rio, but before she commences her disciplinary routine of preparing for the Olympics, Katy is taking some time to relax in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. She was spotted at El Fogon Restaurant enjoying a great dinner.
Heptathlon athlete Katy Sealy competed along with 21 Belizean athletes over the weekend at the 17th Central American Championships in El Salvador and their performance was exceptional. Of the seven participating Central American countries, Belize ranks fourth place, taking six gold medals (all record setting medals) four silver and two bronze.

Katy captured the gold in the heptathlon for Belize for the third consecutive year; she improved in her National Record and also broke the Central American Championships Record. “I was really pleased with my performances in all seven events which make up the heptathlon, showing significant improvement on last year,” commented Kathy in one of her Facebook profile posts.
“My next aim for the heptathlon is to break 5000 points and win Gold for Belize in the Central American Games next year. I am now in Belize looking forward to a couple of days rest and recovery before I get back to training for the rest of the season. I would like to thank the Belize Olympic Committee and Athletic Association for their continued support and also to all Belizean’s who have sent me fantastic messages of encouragement and congratulations.”
Sealy is from England, but she has decided to represent Belize in her sporting competitions for the love of the country. Katy explains that her grandfather lived and worked in Dangriga, Stann Creek, Belize and that her father was born there and lived in Pomona before moving to the United Kingdom. Her father married an English woman and she was born in England, however she has dual nationality, holding both Belize and UK passports.
