Mr. John Grief and Mr. Steve Schulte of Tropic Air were presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Belize Tourism Awards that were held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, in Belize City. The awards is presented to those who have dedicated their lives to grow and develop Belize’s tourism industry. This awardee’s contributions are significant and have positively impacted Belize and the lives of countless Belizeans.
This cannot be said more of Mr. Greif and Schulte who have been pioneers in the aviation/tourism industry for Belize. Tropic Air was key in kickstarting tourism in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. Founded in 1979 by John Greif III with just a single airplane and two employees, Tropic has steadily grown to become the largest and most experienced airline in Belize, offering over 200 daily scheduled flights.
Since its inaugural flight over 40 years ago, Tropic Air has been a leader in the introduction of modern aircraft technology in the domestic market in Belize and has played a key role in the promotion of the tourism industry within the country, and have always been committed to the growth of this sector.
Both Greif and Schulte have dedicated their lives in the growth of their company, cared for the island community they live in and nurtured the tourism industry of this country. With this, Ambergris Today joins in celebrating this well-deserved award bestowed to Mr. John Grief and Mr. Steven Schulte. Congratulations.
