Graduation Season Reminiscing

Kids walking home from school during graduation season

With graduation season upon us, we tend to reminisce more than usual. We take comfort in the memories of simple routines such as walks or drives to and from school, lunchtime chats with friends, and classrooms filled with laughter. In times like these, the mundane things that we were once ready to leave behind become memories we struggle to leave to the realm of nostalgia. We’re grateful for the opportunities we were given and can sometimes be regretful of the ones we didn’t take. We find joy in the gift of childhood friends and inside jokes— those who have been with you since kindergarten and have seen you at all the stages of your growth. As a community, we see generation after generation follow in our footsteps while also paving new paths for those that follow— kids we remember with their cartoon backpacks are now graduating and moving onto their new chapter of adulthood.

Take this as a reminder to relish in the moments you are living in now, that one day will fill you with nostalgia, wishing you could spend 5 more minutes in. Feel pride in your accomplishment and try to stay still in the moments leading up to the walk across the stage.
