YOU KNOW YOU ARE AN OLD TIMER SANPEDRANO IF
For Christmas you waited patiently for the 25th so that you enjoy your first apple.  Also you enjoyed nice juicy pears and delicious grapes.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A MODERN SANPEDRANO IF
You are eating apples and grapes all year long, so long that they now seem like common fruits and do not bring in the feeling of Christmas.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE AN OLD TIMER SANPEDRANO IF
You remember buying your salted smoked ham in a crocus sack or cloth sack and you used to hang it by the front door so everybody would notice you had your Christmas ham ready.  You also remember that you had to scrape of the mould for an hour and then boil this ham at least two or three times to remove the excess salt.  And get this, when the family finally had devoured the ham you saved the bone so you would cook your next pot of kidney beans and that was another treat.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A PRESENT DAY SANPEDRANO IF
You eat only refrigerated hams and they are not half as nice as the old-fashioned smoked ones but then again you do not know the difference.

You used to cut a nice green branch from a pine (cypress) tree and decorated it as your living Christmas tree.  You also remember that tree was impressive in day time only and not at nighttime because it had no lights.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A PRESENT DAY SANPEDRANO BECAUSE
Your Christmas trees come in a rainbow of colors, including black. (I recently saw a black one at Walmart in Merida)  And of course you know that the beauty of your Christmas tree today is at nighttime.

You remember that most of the time the only toy a boy got was a gun or rifle. The prices ranged as follows: plastic water gun- 25 cents, metal gun using pop shot- $1.50, two cowboy guns with leather belt- $5.00, rifle that fired cork bullets $6.00.  The popular toys for girls were dolls (all sizes) and tea sets.

The toys you get for Christmas are mostly electronic and the prices are above the one hundred dollar mark.
