I had the pleasure of being interviewed by the vivacious Rosalie Staines, host of the Oapn Paki talk show of Belize City on Sunday, February 13, 2011, at the Sunbreeze Hotel. Her visit to San Pedro coincides with the annual Boogie in Belize skydiving event as she had become an avid skydiver.
This year marks her fifth jump! I tip my hat off to Rosalie for being such a spirited lady who still seeks to make the most out of life and almost nothing beats the rush of skydiving. I know I could not do it.
I was honored for being personally invited by Rosalie to partake in the Opan Paki talk show as I got the opportunity to talk a little bit of myself, my great work experience with Ambergris Today throughout all these great years and a bit of our beloved island home of Ambergris Caye.
It was a pleasure to have done the interview as Rosalie is such an inspiration. She is a hard working lady who is so full of life, very charming and energetic. Her talk show just hit the 10 year mark of broadcasting which she celebrated in style on December 5, 2010, in Belize City with the production of a concert show at Memorial Park.
She made a grand entrance on a helicopter and performed as song of Lady Gaga, she told me as we chatted away over a cocktail after the on-camera interview. The five-hour show highlighted past exciting guests and interviews, special tourism destination, adventure and reality shows.
Oapn Paki’s 10th Anniversary Extravaganza Show also featured musical entertainment, special interviews with sponsors of the Oapn Paki Show over the past 10 years and plenty of give-a-ways donated by Oapn Paki sponsors.
It is definitely a landmark event for Rosalie as she has proven herself as a dynamic personality within our Belizean culture and for providing 10 great years of broadcasting. Her Oapn Paki talk show looks at issues in Belize involving, health, politics and just about anything and everything. It airs on Love FM and Love Belize TV from 10:15a.m. to 12:15p.m. on Sundays.
San Pedro does not currently get the broadcasting feed from Love Belize TV, but you can surely catch the show and my interview this Sunday on Love FM radio frequencies 98.1 and 88.9. Reef Radio TV has announced that they will air this week’s show at 10:15a.m. on Sunday as well. I will hopefully get a copy of the video interview to share on the internet.
