Saturday, April 9, the Old Football Field was the place to be as seven beautiful girls took center stage and gave their very best as they competed for the coveted title of Miss Chiquitita 2011. All were charming and beautiful but only one of them took the grand prize home. Beautiful Gabriella Alexander Knox won the hearts of the judges and took the coveted title of Miss Chiquitita 2011.
It was a night to remember, as all seven outstanding girls, Gidelie Rivero, Gabriella Knox, Noely Wiltshire, Nathalie Bolzle, Elsie Belisle, Nathalie Mejia and Yanni Ayala first took on the stage with a very energetic dance and made it known that it was going to be a tough competition. The entire audience joined in the competition by making their cheers and applauses very audible throughout the show.
After their introduction the girls wowed the crowd in the swimsuit competition showing off their modeling skills. The talent competition was another great segment as each of the girls made a special presentation of either a dance or a special rendition of their favorite song. This year the girls went all out for this segment; there was the impersonation of famous singer Katy Perry – Nathalie Mejia (with stage props and all), grand entrance with a toy car and singing along with a live band by Noely Wiltshire and the crowd’s favorite Gabriella Knox’s “Barbie” presentation.
Not once did the girls fail to impress the audience or judges as they made their presence on stage showing grace, beauty, poise and self confidence. After the formal wear competition and many performances by the San Pedro Dance Company and Barbara’s Dance Group it was time to announce the winner. The title of Miss Congeniality was won by Nathalie Bolzle and lovely Gidelie Rivero won Miss Photogenic and the First Runner Up title. Lovely Gabriella Knox had everything the judges were looking for and was crowned Miss Chiquitita 2011.
