– Press Release – Twenty four year-old Monique Habet from Cayo was crowned Miss Earth Belize on Saturday, July 23, at the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts in Belize City. Her sponsors were A’dore Boutique, Shell Gas Cayo, the Habet Family and a host of other sponsors.
Miss Monique Habet will represent Belize at Miss Earth Pageant in Pattaya Thailand on November 12, 2011. Miss Earth is one of the three most coveted titles in the world beauty pageant arena and is devoted to a single most important cause, our environment. Miss Earth Belize will be a goodwill ambassador and spokesperson for Belize as well as its environmental and tourism industries.
First runner up, Miss Air, is 19-year-old Hiasha Bevans from Port Layola Belize whose sponsors included Mr. Christopher C. Di Julio of the USA (developer) 13th productions, Mr. Gilroy Usher Sr. and Sharon’s Point of Beauty.
Second runner up, Miss Water, is 22-year-old Kimberly Robateau representing Orange Walk. Her sponsors included Elegance Boutique; third runner up, Miss Fire, is 18-year-old Falon Cain from Stann Creek whose sponsor was Citrus Products of Belize Ltd.; fourth runner up is 24-year-old Ashanti Rodriguez from Belize City who was sponsored by Mr. Christopher C. di Julio of the USA (developer).
The judges were: Mr. Kahlil Jacobs Fantauzzi, photographer, promoter, film maker to name a few; Miss Eryn Vernon, model; Mrs. Birdy Francis, graduate of Deupaul University, finishing school, former Miss Windy City 1976, former Mrs. Illinois 1993, pageant coach, volunteer to name a few.
Apart from a strong emphasis on environment protection programs, Miss Earth also aims to showcase and promote various tourist destinations. Candidates from all over the world compete on beauty and knowledge of environmental issues.
Miss Earth continues to build its reputation as the most relevant and worthwhile beauty event in the world, setting a legacy of beauty and responsibility.
