The leader of the People’s United Party, Hon. Francis Fonseca, arrived in San Pedro on Thursday, December 8, 2011 to meet with the PUP Standard Bearer of Belize Rural South, the San Pedro PUP Blue Team but most importantly to meet with the residents of Belize Rural South.
Upon his arrival he was warmly greeted by fellow PUP supporters after which they gathered at the Blue Water Grill restaurant at the Sunbreeze Hotel. PUP leader Hon. Francis Fonseca was on the island to address important issues that are affecting island residents on a day to day basis.
Addressing the crowd were PUP Standard Bearer, Patty Arceo, Hon. Francis Fonseca and Mayoral Candidate Mrs. Conchita Flota.
“On behalf of my councilor candidates and myself, I want to tell you that we know that governing is not easy, but when we decided to run on a platform of service and commitment to you the residents of San Pedro Town,” stated Conchita. “As your next Mayor, I propose to you that my team will take the initiative to provide you the residents of San Pedro Town within the first 90 days in office a comprehensive and complete audited report of the financial situation of our town. This is crucial so that along with your input we are able to create a proper framework of how to move forward with expenditures and to tackle our proposed projects.”
She continued by stating that it will be more productive to work hand in hand with the stakeholders and resident of La Isla Bonita through consultation and better communication to make a difference and improve the island.
PUP Party Leader also met with party supporters at a political meeting which was held on Thursday, December 8 at the San Pedro PUP Headquarters. After making an appearance in the morning show on Friday, December 9, 2011 along with the San Pedro Blue Team members, Hon. Fonseca departed to Caye Caulker Village for similar activities.
