SPHS Softball Team is Northern Regional Champions!

San Pedro High School and the community of San Pedro have another victory to celebrate as the male softball team of the San Pedro High School made us proud by becoming the Northern Regional Softball Champions. The San Pedro High School male softball team traveled to Burrell Boom Village on Saturday, March 3, 2012, to participate in the Northern Regional Softball Tournament which was hosted by Belize Rural High School.

In the semi-final game Pitcher Konrad Gonzalez and the SPHS boys only needed one inning of work to dispatch the boys from Escuela Secondaria Technica Mexico 15 to 1 in a mercy run-rule game. In the championship game SPHS run-ruled Belize Rural High School 12 to 3 behind a strong pitching performance from Charles Richards who recorded six strikeouts in three innings of work.

At the end of the tournament San Pedro’s Jeffrey Cole Ray was awarded Most Valuable Player of the tournament. The San Pedro High School will represent the Northern Region at the National Tournament scheduled for March 16th and 17th in Belmopan City hosted by Belmopan Baptist High School.

SPHS will join Independence High School from the Southern Region and finalist from the Central and Western Region yet to be determined. The San Pedro High School would like to express its gratitude to Mr. Paul Kelly, Mr. Dave and Jo Nisbet and Mark Tatko of International Sports Outreach, Mr. Derrick Jones, Mr. Brandon Bood, Parents and fans!!!!!!!!
