The San Pedro Holiday Boat Parade has proven to be a fantastic event that draws hundreds Central Park and various other viewing stations along the beach in downtown San Pedro. The Seventh Annual Boat Parade that kick starts the holiday season celebrations on Ambergris Caye took place on Saturday, December 8, 2012, as saw newcomer El Secreto Resort taking the top boat prize this year.

It was an even more festive celebration this year as more boats entered the friendly and cheerful competition of light parade over the sea as compared to last year’s. Around 7p.m. the participating boats lined up in front of Wayo’s dock and started to spread the Christmas cheer all the way to Caribbean Villas. After the parade of lights all the boats and participants headed to Central Park where hundreds gathered to join in the fun and celebrate with Santa.
Saga Humane Society was on hand with Santa Claus to take pictures as they raised funds for the non-profit organization. Plus there were lots of food booths and live music to keep the crowd in celebration. Special drumming presentation was given by the Isla Bonita Marching Band who was awarded $100 by the Boat Parade Committee for their fundraising efforts to compete at Band Fest 2013.
