September 10th Celebrations in San Pedro
The September 10th celebrations commemorating the 216th Battle of St. George’s Caye in San Pedro commenced on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 as the San Pedro Town Council and the San Pedro Cultural Committee held a Tribute to the Baymen celebration on the eve of St. George’s Caye Day.

The evening’s activities on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, under the theme “Industrious hands, Intelligent minds, Together for Belize!” included a tribute to the Baymen by District Education Officer, Mrs. Miriam Codd, Guest Speaker Hon. Manuel Heredia Jr. and Cultural Presentations and Creole Medley by the Heaven’s Youth Choir from the Roman Catholic Church Youth Ministry under the musical direction of Nathalie Arceo.

After the official ceremony there was a free jump up where everyone danced the night away to bring in September tenth.

Miss San Pedro 2014 Officially Crowned

San Pedro Commemorates St. George’s Caye Day

Early morning celebrations on the tenth commenced at 9a.m. at Central Park once again as the official crowning ceremonies of the new Miss San Pedro took place. Outgoing Miss San Pedro Solani Graniel 2013-2014 passed on the crown, scepter and robe on to Miss San Pedro 2014-2015 Michelle Estrella Nuñez who graciously accepted the responsibilities of being our newest beauty ambassador.

Miss Michelle Nuñez promised to continue brining honor and pride to the Miss San Pedro organization and to represent La Isla Bonita to the best of her abilities. After her coronation, Miss San Pedro was joined by Miss Solani Graniel and the other participating contestants of the Miss San Pedro Pageant which included Doria Soriano, Elma Gonzalez, Janellie Ack and Ileny Aguilar, on the official queen’s float that was followed by all the participating schools around the main streets of San Pedro for the annual St. George’s Caye Parade. The fun continued all day long with a beach party at Central Park.
