On Sunday, September 28, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Belize, His Excellency Mr. Benjamin Ho, and his wife, made an honorary visit to San Pedro along with representatives of the Central America Trade Office (CATO), SpeedTech Energy and Sunmed Medical Group. They were hosted by Mayor Daniel Guerrero and Councilors inside the San Pedro Town Council.
As part of their visit, representatives of both SpeedTech Energy and Sunmed Medical Group made a presentation of their products and services and how it could be beneficial for San Pedro Town.
SpeedTech Energy specializes in designing, developing and manufacturing solar photovoltaic energy-saving lighting devices and power solutions. The company has accumulated 12 years of business experience in the global market, namely in Central America, Caribbean, Middle East and Africa. One of their main interests is to provide Belize with solar powered light posts.
Sunmed Medical Group has been in business for over 50 years in Taiwan and is a leading specialist in designing and manufacturing of aseptic rooms for hospitals and healthcare facilities.
The role of CATO is to promote and further bilateral relations, business cooperation and investment development, as well as to provide other services pertinent to trade between Taiwan and its diplomatic allies in Central America which include Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. CATO is financed by the Republic of China (Taiwan).
After the presentation, Mayor Daniel Guerrero presented the Ambassador and the visitors with a gift of appreciation for their visit. The Ambassador also presented the Mayor and Councilors with a gift of appreciation.
Before heading to lunch at Pineapple’s inside Ramon’s Village Resort, Mayor Daniel Guerrero and Councilors gave the Ambassador, his wife and visitors a quick tour of San Pedro Town which they enjoyed as they were snapping pictures of the town as they went along.
