The San Pedro Belize Red Cross chapter received a generous donation from the island’s Hellfighters Soldiers of Ambergris Caye, Belize last week as they presented a check of $1,500 to the organization.
The newly organized Hellfighters group of San Pedro had recently raised funds during the Costa Maya Festival and was looking for an organization fitting to assist. With recommendation from Mayor Daniel Guerrero, the group agreed to present the funds raised towards the Red Cross starting up an emergency fund.
“The San Pedro Branch of the Belize Red Cross is very appreciative of this generous donation and the thought behind it,” commented Laurie Norton, member of the Red Cross. “They believe it is important to build Ambergris Caye capacity by being prepared for emergencies in advance and this donation of $1,500 will help do just that. We would like to thank the Mayor for his recommendation and the Hellfighters for their time and hard work to raise funds.”
Hellfigthers is a non-denominational league of extraordinary ladies and gentlemen who have been saved by forgiving grace of Jesus Christ and are bold to serve him 24/7/365 regardless of the cost. The group explains that they Evengelize, feed, shelter and clothes the homeless in the name of Jesus Christ.

The group members of the HELLFIGTHERS FOOTSOLDIERS in San Pedro include Maricela Badillo , Patricia Sabido , Nori Martinez, Betty Badillo, Leonor Marroquin, Ruth Orellana, Ismael MAYO Badillo, Roberto Sabido, Francisco Gongora, Bernabe Badillo, Isais Magana, Victor Peralta, Avimael Chuc, Dennis Sabido, Mariano Contreras, Rigoberto Chuc and Jose Camal.
Right after the donation, the Red Cross was off to Tropic Air Cargo to pick up an order of First AID kits for Caribbean Villas which is one resort on the island to have a full first aid trained staff.

“Another way to prepare for emergencies is to get your Belize Red Cross first Aid kit,” commented Laurie Norton. “It is important to have first aid supplies in a recognizable container at both home and office. Check your kits regularly to make sure they are well stocked, every 6 months (beginning and ending of hurricane season) is a good guide. If you do not have a first aid kit what are you waiting for?”
Red Cross was off to Tropic Cargo after the donation so Frank Panton could pick up the first aid kit headquarters sent over to fill Caribbean Villas order. They have first aid trained staff and recognized they needed a good first aid kit at the resort to be properly prepared.
