ABTEC Places 100 At-Risk Youth & Group Trainees in Jobs

American Belizean Technology and Education Center (ABTEC), a non-profit organization funded by the US Embassy in Belize, which provides job training to at risk youths and vulnerable groups, is proud to announce that it has placed over 100 trainees in jobs.

Over 300 trainees have completed the program in 2015. While some have already been placed, a lot more have applied and are scheduled to attend interviews.

After completing the program, ABTEC assist trainees to find jobs. The feedback has been good from organizations where trainees have been placed, and we continue to fine tune our program to increase its success ratio.

ABTEC Places 100 At-Risk Youth & Group Trainees in Jobs

The program has been providing training for Belizeans since January 2014. The goal of the organization is to prepare young Belizeans to enter the job market by training them and teaching them skills. Currently offered programs include:
* Computer and Information technology (Basic Computer, Graphic Design, Video Editing, Web Development, Programming)
* Customer Service, Sales and Hospitality
* Sewing & Tailoring

The unique training programs includes:
Step 1 – A one week comprehensive Job Readiness Training Workshop which prepares individuals for work, provides them with pre-employment skills, empowers them for success and promotes job retention and advancement.

Step 2 – Trainees complete their respective training and receive our certificate. ABTEC provides continuous guidance and assistance to trainees even after completing the program in an effort to enhance their lives and that of their children.  The program expresses gratitude to those companies who have been supportive such as IT Reframing, Caribbean Treasures, Belize Signs, D Sprout Inc. (Pink & IT Stores), Ready Call Center, Bowen & Bowen and Transparent BPO.
