It was El Fogon’s Belikin Beer Battered Lobster with Orange Ginger Rice that captured the first place trophy at this year’s tenth annual San Pedro Lobsterfest during an exciting night of judging, lobster sampling, new lobster inspired cocktails, super desserts including lobster cheesecake and ice cream and plenty of musical entertainment.
Still celebrating off the euphoria after being awarded Festival of the Year 2015 at the Belize Tourism Awards, the organizing committee of the San Pedro Lobsterfest managed to put together their best, longest and biggest block party yet! It was 12 days of celebration as soon as the lobster season opened on June 15 that the festival entertained partying LobSTARS who participated in the Lobster Crawl.
Restaurants, bars and shops across the island partook in the crawl that had islanders hopping ‘crawling’ day to day to enjoy the lobster specials and entertainment provided by the different establishments. All that excitement of lobster fishing, eating and partying lead up to the big event which was the block party held on Saturday, June 25, 2016.
There was nothing but LOBSTER on the menu at the block party that witnessed a HUGE turnout. Vendors sold out by the end of the night as thousands crowed Central Park to party like LobSTARS.
GUESS WHAT? San Pedro Lobsterfest 2017 dates have been announced for June 15 through June 25, with the Block Party on June 24th…See you all next year!
