Blue Water Grill trio of businesses does not stop giving back to the community. This month alone they presented donations to three organizations amounting over $57,000.
The first is a donation of 30 new laptops for the computer lab at San Pedro High School. In January and February 2017, Blue Water Grill customers donated $5,004, which they matched. Guests of The Phoenix donated $2,685, which The Phoenix matched and customers of Wine de Vine donated $182, which Wine de Vine matched. With the entire amount of $15,741the laptops were donated to the high school.

$10K for Oceana Belize
On Friday, March 24, Blue Water Grill presented Oceana Belize a check for $10,000 toward their campaign efforts against oil exploration in Belize. The money was raised during BWG’s first ever Belize Food and Wine event in January with the sole purpose to benefit Oceana in Belize.
“Being an advocate is hard! All too often in the face of such scenarios, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and intimidated,” stated Janelle Chanona, Vice President of Oceana Belize. “But as the tourism and fishing stakeholders recently reminded us, people power is real. At that historic meeting in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, many stood as one. Together we highlighted that the issue of offshore oil has transcended and overcome all the traditional divisive tactics. We underscored that when we put national interests first, national good prevails. We emphasized that the health and management of coastal and marine resources is a bread and butter issue to more than 190,000 Belizeans. Sensational support like the Phoenix Resort and Blue Water Grill events and activities are truly inspirational. And so as we prepare for what lies ahead in 2017, we do so motivated and emboldened by that kind of unwavering commitment to love and protect Belize.”
Needless to say, the two-night event was a huge success, brining together local and international chefs to showcase food, wine, cocktails in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye.
Ultrasound Machine for San Pedro Polyclinic
The Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II now has an Ultrasound Machine! From October through December 2016, customers of Blue Water Grill, The Phoenix, and Wine de Vine donated $16,325. We matched that 100% and purchased the ultrasound machine for $32,649.48. In the last couple years the trio of businesses have donated an x-ray machine, an EKG machine, an ultrasound machine, and successfully lobbied for the clinic to provide 24 hour care.
