San Pedro Police are investigating an assault that took place 10 miles north of San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, Belize that left one man injured with gunshot wound, on Tuesday, September 5, at about 8:00p.m.
Police report visiting the San Pedro Town Poly Clinic last night and encountering 22-year-old Edgar Rene Lopez of 10 mile North Ambergris Caye with a gunshot wound behind the head (graze), left arm and left shoulder.
Investigation revealed that Lopez was out with a friend when three men approached them from the nearby bushes and fired several shots at them. Lopez managed to escape with gunshot injuries and was transported to San Pedro Poly Clinic where he was treated and later transport to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for further treatment. He remains in a stable condition.
