In this shortlist you can find Belize’s Melvin Arevalo, an accredited ornithologist and shares his deep knowledge of the birds of Belize with guests.
The PURE Unsung Hero award is set to recognize the dedication and passion of the guides who go an extra mile to offer a truly transformation experience to their guests, often through some of the most remote areas of the world.
Melvin enjoys guiding guests on the properties birds and also spearheads the beach clean up teams, volunteers for every conservation protect, partnered with local Belize researchers to do a bird count and was invited by Cornell Ornithology department invited him to share his knowledge of the Birds of Belize.
