Major Drug Bust at Illegal Airstrip Off Coastal Road in Belize

Belize Police have charged four men for what is being considered one of the biggest drugs in Belize after a drug plane landed at an illegal airstrip off the Coastal Road on Sunday, September 7, 2019.

Police confiscated four bales containing approximately 1,000 pounds of cocaine. Four men were arrested and charged jointly with one count of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply another person or persons for the purpose of drug trafficking. The four, who appeared in court are: sixty-nine-year old Mexican national of Tamaulipas, Miguel Cruz Meseguer, along with thirty-year old David Noe Orellano Discua, of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, businessman, forty-three-year old Carlos Humberto Henriquez Gomez, also from San Pedro Sula and commercial pilot, forty-three-year old Juan Pablo Larea Cruz, from Guayaquil, Ecuador.

The duo not present in court are: thirty-one-year old Allan Yovani Mejia Chirnos of San Pedro Sula, and fifty-year-old Norlan Jose Carrasco Lopez, another Honduran national. Their next court case is set for November 12, 2019. The two other Honduran nationals who were not present at court are hospitalized at the K.H.M.H. under heavy guard. (News Source: Channel 5 Belize)
