Belize Coast Guard Promotes Sanpedrana Alma Pinelo to Lieutenant Commander

The Belize Coast Guard is celebrating its 14th anniversary and the 10th Recruitment Exercise and Changing of Command Ceremony took place on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. The event took place at the Belize Coast Guard Headquarters, 4.5 miles George Price Highway, Belize City. Taking command of the Belize Coast Guard was Captain Elton Bennet and our very own Sanpedrana Alma Pinelo was promoted to Lieutenant Commander.

Admiral John Borland handed over command to Captain Elton Bennet and a total of 85 recruits and two officer cadets joined the fleet immediately.  Present at the event was Hon. John Saldivar Ministry of National Security other Ministers of Government, other distinguish guests and family and friends of Intake 10. Admiral John Borland is moving on as the chief of Staff of Defence in the Ministry of National Security.

The mission of the Belize Coast Guard is to protect Belize Maritime Spaces from threats, both foreign and domestic, by providing maritime security, safety and protection of our people, industries and Natural Resources through military, law enforcement and Humanitarian operations.

Congratulations to Lieutenant Commander Alma Pinelo and to all graduates in particular Cade Segura, Zameni Anderson and Noel Hernandez of San Pedro Town.
