Island resident, 18-year-old, Michael Cobo reportedly was last heard of on Friday, November 29, 2019 and was reported missing on Monday, December 2, 2019. The Cobo’s family worst fear came true as they headed to Belize to identify the body of a male person that was found floating near the Port Authority pier.
According to Police Reports, on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, about 10:10 a.m., Police responded to a report at the Belize Port Authority pier, at Ceaser Ridge Road, Belize City. Upon arrival, and about halfway on the pier and about 50ft off the pier in the sea, they observed the decomposed body of a male person wrapped in a blanket, weighted down with what seemed to be a cement block and had his hand bound together. With the assistance of the Belize Coast Guard the decomposed body was retrieved from the sea and was observed with a rose tattoo on the left hand, and beneath the tattoo was the name Miley.
The body was transported to the laboratory for a post mortem examination and where he was positively identified by his family to be Michael Cobo. Police Investigations continue.
