Belize Police are on the search for an American National, Alison McKenzie of Arizona, who has been reported missing after going on a camping trip at Rendezvous Caye.
A missing persons report was filled by 58-year-old Paige Rote, an American Musician of Colorado, who told police that on January 17, 2019, he was on a tour along with the 43-year-old American and 16 other persons. They camped for the night at Rendezvous Caye in Belize and about 6am when Rote woke up, McKenzie was nowhere to be found.
Cherie Mackenzie, mother of Alison Mackenzie, pleads for the return of her daughter.
“We are working with the Belize Police, the American Embassy, and the tour company owner. We have received 3 different stories about what happened that morning. None of them consistent with the others. We are getting nowhere finding out where she is. It has been 48 hours now, and not only missing, but feared no longer alive. We are trying to find the people that were on the catamaran tour boat with her. We have no idea where in the world they may live. But we are praying if enough people send this around, someone who knows something will contact me.
Raggamuffin Catamaran tour, 2 nights, 3 days. Left Belize Friday morning the 17th, to Rendezvous Caye(island). Alison disappeared early Saturday morning the 18th. The island is very small, approximately 2 acres with 10 palm trees.
My whole family is beyond devastated, it just doesn’t seem real. Her 2 daughters are past being consoled. They have lost their Mother and best friend.
I want her home with us, no matter how she may be found. I want my daughter back”.
