Sanpedrano Julio Lara, currently finishing his studies in Dentistry in Guatemala City, read on Ambergris Today about how Garifuna Flava Caribbean Restaurant in Chicago, Illinois will be featured on the Food Network. Well, coincidentally he finds himself vacationing in Chicago so he made a very special trip to visit the Belizean diner to see what all the buzz is about!
“I had a very pleasant surprise at Garifuna Flava,” commented Julio Lara to Ambergris Today. “I was really impressed with the food. The flavors were very Belizean and authentic to the Garifuna culture. It was excellent and I was happy to get a taste all the way here in the US.”

Garifuna Flava Caribbean Restaurant, a family-owned Belizean bistro located in Chicago Illinois, has now placed Belizean cuisines on the world stage as its unique, high-quality and of course Belizean menus have earned it a feature episode on Food Network’s popular “Diners, Drive Ins and Dives” (Triple Ds) show, to be aired on Monday, May 23rd, 2011, at 8:00pm Central Time.
