Rocky Point Ambergris Caye, Belize – A View from Above

Took some stunning aerial images of Rocky Point at the northern-most tip if Ambergris Caye, Belize which borders Mexico during my fliight to Cancun, Mexico in September via Tropic Air. Rocky Point is the area where the land actually meets with the coral reef of the Great Barrier Reef of Belize. The land sticks out far enough that the coral reef formations are actually fringing the beach of the island. The beach area at Rocky Point is littered with dead coral that has accumulated throughout the years due to the closeness of the coral reef, hence the name of the area which is within a protected reserve. – by Dorian Nuñez
