Ten dollars got you a whole lot of burgers, nine to be exact, at Saga’s November Burger Cook Off that took place last night, Wednesday, November 16, 2011. The event went down at the Wahoo’s Lounge located on the beach at the Spindrift Hotel.
Well, they were not entire burgers, but samplers or sliders as they are called; but they were delicious and very hearty. With $10 a plate at all the Saga Cook Offs you are sure to get a deal for the amount of food you get to sample.
We have to admit that our favorite was the Jimmy Buffet Burger for its great tasting patty, but all of them were very delicious; here are the other entries: Smoked Hawaiian Burger, Blue Cheese Burger, Mini Shrimp Burger, Surf and Turf Burger, Jerk Burger, Southwestern Turkey Burger, Steak Burger and even a Veggie Burger with yogurt and feta cheese!
Mathieu’s Delicatessen was voted the winner for their Surf and Turf Burger and rounding up the top three was Noel of Wahoo’s Lounge with her Blue Cheese Stuffed Beef Burger in second place and Lori Purdy in third place with her tasty Veggie Burgers.
