Mayor Elsa Paz, along with Hon. Manuel Heredia Jr., presented a check to Vice Principal of San Pedro High School, Mrs. Conchita Flota to cover for 24 scholarships that will be awarded to students at the school. The total amount given to the San Pedro High School was $30,690.00 and the sponsors that covered the entire total were The San Pedro Town Council, The UDP Executive Committee, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Spica, Mr. Dellbert Tolsdorph, Sunrise Realty, Reltsuh Ltd. and Graniel’s Construction.
Principal Addy Martinez of Isla Bonita Elementary School was also presented with a check of $10,400 for scholarships for four students in that educational institution. These scholarships for Isla Bonita Elementary were sponsored by The UDP Executive Committee and the Area Representative Hon. Manuel Heredia Jr.
Every year the San Pedro Town Council works in finding sponsors who are willing to contribute to these scholarship funds which greatly aid students at all schools in San Pedro. Students on the scholarship program must maintain an average of 80 percentile or above in order to keep the scholarship.
