Miss World Belize 2025 Faith Edgar is stepping into a new chapter of public service, announcing her candidacy for San Pedro Town PUP Councilor as part of Wally Nuñez’s People’s United Party team.
Edgar shared the announcement through a video posted on her social media platforms, accompanied by a personal message reflecting on ten years of growth, representing her island and finding ways to give back. With the opening words, “10 years. 1 island. A new chapter,” she connected her decision to enter local politics with a journey that has taken her from dreams of representing San Pedro to the world stage.
“From the little girl who dreamed of representing San Pedro, to standing on the world stage as Miss World Belize, to turning a passion for dental health into Smiles 4 Belize, every chapter has challenged me to grow beyond myself and find new ways to serve,” Edgar wrote.
For Edgar, those experiences have been tied together by her love for San Pedro and the people who call it home. In her message, she reflected on how the titles she has held, the people she has met and the work she has been involved in have shaped her, while describing community service as the constant thread throughout her journey.
“Because for me, this journey has never been just about where I could go or what I could achieve. It’s always been about what I could give back,” she stated.
Her PUP councilor candidacy brings that commitment into the political arena, where she will seek an opportunity to serve through local government. Alongside her pageant experience, Edgar highlighted Smiles4Belize, the initiative she developed from her passion for dental health, as one of the chapters that helped lead her to this decision.
While her accompanying message did not outline specific policy proposals, Edgar said she plans to share more in the coming weeks about the experiences behind her decision, the work that has brought her to this point and her vision for San Pedro.
She closed her announcement with a message to the community that has been at the heart of her journey: “San Pedro, this island has been the beginning of so much for me. Now, I’m ready to give even more of myself to it.”
As she joins Wally Nuñez’s PUP team, Edgar’s announcement introduces a new direction in her public life, with further details about her candidacy and priorities expected through her upcoming posts.
