Rest in Peace and Rise In Glory the Soul of Eiden Salazar Sr. San Pedro and the Salazar family is grieving the loss of one of the sons of the soil, Eiden Salazar Sr. He combated a fairly short term ailment with cancer and has now gone to eternal rest.
Mr Eiden Salazar arrived at San Pedro from Mexico and as a child he roamed bare footed around San Pedro, fishing, swimming, collecting firewood for his mom’s cooking, and attended the R.C. School of the island. As a teen Eiden was a fisherman and later married Neydy Alamilla, a union that brought forth four children, Emely Marisa, Jenny, and Eiden Salazar Jr.
Eiden then became a businessman and operated Jenny’s Store, a movie place and restaurant. Along with his son, Eiden Jr. he also made possible the first radio station on the Island, Reef Radio. A humble man with a wide smile and a good sense of humor, Eiden enjoyed a good life and was a positive role model to his family and community.
He will be sadly missed by his spouse, children and grandchildren as wells his brothers Pedro, Roque, Marciano and sister Julie Salazar Azueta, and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
Ambergris Today and I Travel Belize extend sincere condolences to the Salazar family. “Those who believed in Christ and lived in Him are not afraid of death because they know that death is the commencement of of a new and eternal life with God in Heaven”.
