“Yogi” for a day!

Our beautiful island has gone from being a quaint, relaxing, fishing village to a very busy and modern island. Tourist and locals alike have a busy schedule and are constantly up and down in our little island. So how do we go about to find relaxation and peace of mind on our beautiful paradise? How about taking some yoga classes?

Yoga is a form of exercise based on the belief that the body and breath are intimately connected with the mind. It is a form of physical exercise which also helps reduce stress. The Angels were invited to attend a yoga class at Exotic Caye Beach Resort and since Angel Perlita is out on vacation Angel Sofie was more than glad to take the class in company of fellow co-worker Gerry. We were “Yogies” for the Day!

I was a first time yogi since Gerry had already taken classes before; I was very excited to experience it. Our Yoga instructor, Tara Darrall, welcomed us to the class and provided us with mats for our session to begin. Tara was very instrumental in demonstrating and guiding us through every “asanas” yoga positions and guiding us how to breathe properly.

Yoga attempts to balance mind and body via physical postures (asanas), controlled breathing and the calming of mind through relaxation and meditation. Yoga is fit for everyone – young and old – at all levels of fitness.

Yoga’s combined focus on mindfulness, breathing and physical movements brings health benefits with regular participation. Yoga participants report better sleep, increased energy levels and muscle tone, relief from muscle pain and stiffness, improved circulation and overall better general health. The breathing aspect of yoga can benefit heart rate and blood pressure.

These Yoga classes offered at Exotic Caye Beach Resort are carried out in a spacious, hard wood floor building overlooking the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Daily classes are available at different levels of yoga, private classes or on the beach classes are also offered.

Daily advanced Classes offered Daily at 9:30am, Yoga for Beginners Monday & Wednesday at 11:00am, Restorative Yoga for Beginners Friday at 11:00am, Intermediate Hatha Vinyasa Yoga Monday-Friday at 5:30 pm.
