Setting the Pace for Tourism

It is this renowned place called Paradise Hotel that set the pace for the development of tourism in San Pedro and Belize. After the pioneer Holiday Hotel, Paradise joined in to tell the world: No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem. These low keyed but luxurious cabañas set the pace for environmentally friendly accommodation and relaxation which tourists prefer over high rise concrete jungles. Ramon Nuñez was the catalyst at Paradise bringing his expertise in deep sea scuba diving, reef snorkeling, fishing and all day tours out at sea. In one of these cabañas renowned San Pedrana cook Lucy Rosado prepared some of the best seafood dishes for tourists who spread the word around the world about San Pedro’s finest seafood cuisine. Hats off to the once famous Paradise Hotel and his proprietor the late Jerry McDermott.
