A Laid Back Village

In the early days of tourism San Pedro was advertised as a laid back fishing village. Those were the days when the British soldiers on vacations placed a towel anywhere on the beach and simply lay in the sun to have fun. Those were the days when there was no traffic and you could lie on the sand and also still find patches of grass on the streets and beach. Those were the days when Central park was a lovely block of sand where locals and tourists could relax and enjoy. It was sandy all the way in front of the Catholic Church. Those were the days when the first bank to the Island, Scotia Bank, rendered services to San Pedro every Wednesday only at an office across the church. Good old days in the laid back village of San Pedro.
