First Yellow Cab

When Jerry McDermott first founded Paradise Hotel, he brought a small land rover jeep to the Island to run errands and guests of his hotel. Cruz Nuñez, one of the very few drivers on the Island was commissioned to drive Jerry around. It was their idea to paint it yellow and name it the San Pedro Yellow Cab. The number to call was 2 2 2 2. Of course, there were no telephones nor cellular phones on the Island but if you went and honked it four times, like this…tu tu tu tu or 2 2 2 2, you got their attention for free service. Cruz or Jerry were always so willing to take you for a fun ride in the Yellow Cab, which was like an attraction on the Island during the days of grassy and sandy streets.
