The Tackle Box

The Tackle Box was the very first recreational establishment in San Pedro Town directly over the sea.  It was the brain piece of Mr. Alan Forman who was owner of Coral Beach Hotel and who was looking for attractions and entertainment for tourists and locals alike. The main feature of Tackle Box Bar was its enclosed aquarium (call it a seaquarium) exhibiting many species of fish, sharks and sea turtles. It was a window to the underwater world which tourists and locals could enjoy while sitting on the verandah savoring a delicious cocktail drink or marine culinary delicacy. The Tackle Box Bar was a whirlpool of activity, a favorite photograph spot, a choice spot to take your friends who came to visit San Pedro from abroad and from all over Belize.  Indeed the Tackle Box was a unique tourist attraction.
