You are looking at a historic building no longer existing in San Pedro but which existed for some sixty plus years. It was known as the Bishop’s House and was an upstairs or upper floor house located in the Bishop’s property exactly where the Lions Den is today. The Bishop used it occasionally when he visited San Pedro but then Martha Guerrero and Abel Guerrero lived there when Martha was a school teacher. After much wear and tear it was finally brought down and re-assembled as a meeting place for the Lions in 1977. Then it was donated to Don Juaquin, a man on a wheelchair who lived in San Pedro. It was set up just before you reached the high school on Lagoon Street. Later it was rented out and some folks put up a fruit shop there. Eventually Celida and Gaby Arana bought the property to build their home and that was the end of the famous Bishop’s House.
