In 1980, two dreamers, Browne and Ab, stood side by side with a vision: a quiet retreat for fishermen, tucked away on the edge of Ambergris Caye. At the time, San Pedro was a sleepy coastal village, and Victoria House was just beginning; 10 thatch-roof casitas, a small bar-restaurant, and little else beyond the palms and sea.
45 years later, Browne and Ab returned to the same stretch of sand, recreating the moment where it all began. Today, Victoria House remains one of Belize’s most beloved luxury resorts, defined by the same warmth, simplicity, and sense of escape, and continually recognized among the very best, most recently with our 6th consecutive Condé Nast Johansen’s Award for Excellence.
We congratulate Victoria House as they celebrate 45 years
