Dear Editor:
The SanPedro AIDS Commission wholeheartedly thanks all those who in one way or another helped make our participation in Carnaval 2011 a resounding success. I applaud the members who opted to dance during the three days of Carnaval. I also salute the “friends” of the AIDS Commission who joined in the festive dancing: Rosita Sturmberg, Ernesto Bardalez, Sara Sanchez, Leo Milian, Shirley Eiley, Josimar Magaña, Mari Magaña, Melissa and Marlene Paz. Great job guys!
Gracias to our “Friends” who also donated: Wilbert Magaña, Wendy Portillo, Martha’s Ice, Nita Marin, Juvinie Sabido, Milo’s Ice, the San Pedro Town Council and a special thank you to Mrs. Celi McCorkle and the wonderful staff of the Holiday Hotel for always being very supportive of the Commission. Thanks to Mrs. Rosalinda Santos for providing the tasty food following the dances.
Mention must be made of our driver Isaias Melendez and his assistant Daniel Salazar for their outstanding work and of course to our Musical Maestro Noel Wiltshire for providing the lively music. To Mr. Angel Nuñez for helping out with the words and music to one of the comparsaa and to all the wonderful people of Ambergris Caye who supported the San Pedro AIDS Commission on this fundraising endeavor and for supporting our Tradition…..Our Carnaval!!!
