Tourists ask for the restaurant by name when they reach Ambergris Caye. “Please direct me to Waruguma.” It has become a very popular Salvadoran eatery along the lines of the famous Elvi’s Kitchen, Cocina Caramba and The Reef Restaurant and Hollywood Celebrity Kal Penn was one such customer of the famous Waruguma Restaurant this past weekend.
Kal Penn walked through the streets of San Pedro incognito before making a stop at Waruguma where he enjoyed a great meal. A handful of people who recognized him were fortunate enough to get a picture and autograph from the star.
Kal’s most notorious and hit movies include the Harold & Kumar series: Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, Harold & Kumar Go to Amsterdam and the to be released A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (2010). Other movie credits include Superman Returns, Van Wilder and Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj. His TV Show appearances include Law & Order SVU, 24 ER and NYPD Blue.
